The first few months after the official coming together of Age Concern
England and Help the Aged - being formalised on 1 April - will provide an
opportunity for older people across England to say how they would like to
engage with the new charity.
A month-long series of 20 half-day events at 10 different locations across
England starting in early-May is being planned. The purpose of the events
is to introduce the new charity to as wide an audience of older people as
possible and to find out how they would like to get involved with the new
organisation.
On each of the event days there will be two meetings - one in the morning
and one in the afternoon. Up to a total of 200 people can attend on each
day. Lunch will be provided free of charge to everyone who takes part.
Dates that have been confirmed so far are:
12 May - Preston
13 May - Newcastle-upon-Tyne
15 May - Leeds
18 May – Birmingham
22 May - Taunton
26 May - London

29 May - Cambridge

middle of March. All venues are accessible for people with disabilities
and will have an induction loop. There will also be a limited travel
bursary.
If you are an older person who would like to attend, details of how to
register are below. If your organisation works with older people or has
members who are 50+, please circulate information about the events to
them.

an email to memberservices@heyday.org.uk People will be asked whether they want to
